A father and son playing video games is what it’s all about.

The inspiration for Game Havens first came from the memories of Cofounder David Teel playing Star Wars on an old Playstation console with his son, Julien. The hours of laughter while Julien ridiculed his father’s inability to make it past the second level as a Jedi Knight…well, they were priceless.

Julien Teel graduated from multiple levels of various video and computer games, including Fallout 3, Oblivion, Call of Duty, Civilization, Age of Empires, and we mustn’t forget Dance Dance Revolution. And now he moves on to SMU, turning his many hours of playing strategy games into majors in International Studies and Political Science. Though we’re not sure how DDR will help him become the Ambassador to China, we do know he makes a great Cofounder of Game Havens.

Launched in 2010, Game Havens is a division of Dallas-based ITD Control LLC, one of the most advanced residential technology design and integration companies in the United States. Game Havens designs and installs custom gaming rooms, media rooms and dedicated home theaters in homes, hotels and places of business. Our design insights and technical expertise are why our team gets called to travel outside of Texas, from Florida to New York, from Louisiana to Bermuda…yes, we said Bermuda! We’ve designed, installed and programmed some of the most complex smart homes in the world, including the biggest home in Georgia, a 55,000 sq. ft. estate with a 27-seat home theater, a bowling alley, a video arcade, a golf simulation room, a Karaoke room and a 50′s Cafe – all in the basement! The ultimate fun team, Game Havens takes fun to a higher, smarter and funner (yes, funner) level.

Adding sponsored gaming tournaments and private gaming events brings a special twist to Game Havens, always with an eye out for the latest in the gaming and technology worlds. We created our very own Gaming Council, made up of hardcore video and PC gamers from universities and high schools, who will always tell you what they think, while eating a piece of pizza, and shooting a zombie without blinking. And our Game Havens Party Girls know what makes a party, and why we should be invited to your private get together for an evening of shooting (aliens), driving (Mario Karts) and scoring (points on a game and points with your guests).
